World's first six-cylinder six-row gas turbine unit put into operation
The Datang Dongying Power Generation Project features high parameters, large capacity, and new technologies. It utilizes several world's first and China's first integrated innovative technologies. Its design achieves a coal consumption of 258.72 g/kWh, a plant auxiliary power consumption rate of 3.88%, and a overall thermal efficiency of 49.4%, setting the best indicators among similar million-kilowatt thermal power units of the same period. Among these, the steam turbine, a single-shaft "six-cylinder six-exhaust" type, is a world's first. Its ultra-long shaft system measures 59.627 meters, with its design and manufacturing representing "Chinese creation." Compared with traditional "five-cylinder four-exhaust" million-kilowatt units, it effectively reduces thermal energy loss during operation. The boiler utilizes a domestically advanced ultra-supercritical secondary reheating tower furnace with an efficiency of 94.9%; it employs seawater desalination technology, saving over 2 million tons of freshwater annually; and the project simultaneously constructs environmental protection facilities such as desulfurization, denitrification, ash removal, dust removal, and wastewater treatment. Indicators such as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and dust emission concentrations all meet design values, falling below national ultra-low emission standards. Simultaneously, zero wastewater discharge is achieved. This project pioneers a more energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and efficient million-kilowatt-class secondary reheating coal-fired power generation unit, providing a reference and demonstration for the design, construction, commissioning, and operation and maintenance of future large-capacity, high-parameter clean and environmentally friendly thermal power plants. It has created a beautiful "Datang business card" in leading the international cutting-edge technology of the power generation industry.
2020 was a crucial year for the Datang Dongying Project to sprint towards production and power generation. The sudden COVID-19 epidemic posed a significant challenge to the busy on-site unit commissioning work. The Datang Dongying Company, through overall planning, scientific arrangements, and meticulous deployment, proactively communicated and reported the resumption of work plan to the local government, actively created conditions, submitted the resumption of work application at the first time, becoming the first enterprise among nearly 300 enterprises in its location to obtain formal government approval for resumption of work, and was one of the first batch of officially resumed projects in China Datang. At the same time, maintaining a high-pressure situation in epidemic prevention and control, overcoming the practical problems of having personnel from epidemic areas and large numbers of personnel with high mobility on site, adopting powerful measures of "six checks" and "four strengthenings", and continuously consolidating the results of epidemic prevention and control, ensuring the "double zero" goal of epidemic prevention and control. During the commissioning period, Datang Dongying Company established a highly efficient coordination and feedback mechanism, headed by the commissioning unit, formulating a scientific commissioning plan and a detailed sub-item commissioning plan, insisting on holding on-site commissioning meetings every morning and evening and issuing daily commissioning reports, following the principles of "pre-planning, in-process guidance, and post-summary" and "no overnight problems", strengthening full-process tracking and problem handling, strictly controlling the commissioning safety and quality, successfully achieving the "five successes in one go" of unit 1's backfeeding, ignition, startup, grid connection, and 168-hour trial operation, and successfully completing the goal of unit 1's power generation.
The operation of the Datang Dongying Project marks China Datang's leading position in the application of ultra-supercritical secondary reheating technology. It plays an important demonstration role in improving the equipment manufacturing level of the national power industry, optimizing the power structure, accelerating the transformation of old and new kinetic energy, and improving regional environmental quality. It will also inject strong impetus into building a high-quality development growth pole in Shandong Province and constructing a vibrant modern wetland city.
